Castillo de Monte la Reina Cuvée Privée Magnum represents a gentler and more surprising expression in a format designed to evolve beautifully over time. Made with 100% Tinta de Toro from overripe grapes, it retains the variety’s classic power, with deep colour, intense aromas and firm structure, while standing out for its remarkable smoothness and elegance.

Its distinctive character comes from a carefully controlled winemaking process: malolactic fermentation in new and used Romanian oak barrels, followed by an ageing period of 14 months in a combination of French oak and this exclusive Transylvanian oak, which brings finesse, balance and a silky texture defined by subtle glyceric nuances.

The Magnum further enhances its elegance, promotes a more refined evolution in the bottle, and preserves its freshness, complexity and longevity more consistently. It is the ideal presentation for celebrations, gatherings and special occasions.

Visually, it displays a deep cherry red colour an intense, clean and bright appearance, with a violet rim and fine tears.

On the nose, it reveals a a deep and complex aroma, with ripe fruit preserves, spicy notes, subtle cocoa, toasted nuances and a mineral undertone that brings definition and freshness.

On the palate, is silky, rounded and exceptionally smooth, with sweet, well integrated tannins. Its enveloping texture and balance make it surprisingly easy to drink, without losing the power and distinctive character of Tinta de Toro. The finish is long and harmonious, with a delicate fruity and mineral aftertaste.

Ideal pairings include rockfish, meat stews, game bird, semi-cured cheeses, mushrooms, creamy rice dishes and traditional dishes with depth of flavour. Thanks to its smoothness and balance, it also pairs beautifully with chocolate desserts.
